World Vision Albania në bashkëpunim me Agritra Vision ka nisur zbatimin e një projekti një vjeçar në zonën e Dibrës, “Përmirësimi i jetesës përmes ruajtjes së biodiversitetit të parkut natyror Korab-Koritnik”.
Projekti që financohet nga Prespa Ohrid Nature Trust – PONT synon promovimin e ruajtjes së biodiversitetit të Parkut Natyror Korab- Koritnik, e cili njihet si një zonë me burime natyrore me potencial të madh për ekonominë lokale. Projekti synon të rrisë ndërgjegjësimin e komuniteteve lokale dhe palëve të interesuara për vlerat, ekosistemet dhe burimet e zonës, si dhe rëndësinë e përdorimit dhe menaxhimit të burimeve natyrore lokale në një mënyrë të qëndrueshme, pasi ato kontribuojnë drejtpërdrejt në zhvillimin ekonomik dhe përmirësimin e jetesës për komunitetin.
Në planin afatgjatë, projekti synon ruajtjen e biodiversitetit të Parkut Natyror Korab-Koritnik (KKNP). Përfituesit kryesorë të drejtpërdrejtë janë RAPA Dibër dhe Kukës dhe komunitetet vendore të synuara në njësitë administrative Maqellarë , Kastriot dhe Melan.
Përfituesit e tjerë (direkt dhe indirekt) përfshijnë:
– 100 fermerë vendas (mbledhës, kultivues) nga komunitetet e synuara, të cilët do të pajisen me aftësi dhe teknika të reja të kultivimit dhe mbledhjes së bimëve medicinale dhe aromatike, pa i dëmtuar ato.
– Tregtarët që kanë interes të drejtpërdrejtë në tregtimin dhe eksportimin e MAP-ve të egra dhe të kultivuara, të cilat janë shumë të kërkuara nga tregu kombëtar dhe ndërkombëtar.
– Turistët e interesuar për të vizituar parkun natyror.
– Bashkia Dibër – Sektori i Turizmit dhe Mjedisit si dhe Sektori i Arsimit, interesi i të cilit është ruajtja e biodiversitetit të zonës. Ata njëkohësisht janë partnerë në këtë projekt.
– 27286 banorët e fshatrave të synuara të Maqellarës, Kastriotit dhe Melanit, të interesuar për të menaxhuar në mënyrë të qëndrueshme burimet e kësaj zone.

World Vision Albania, in cooperation with Agritra Vision, has started implementing the one-year “Improving living conditions through the preservation of the biodiversity of the Korab-Koritnik Nature Park” project in the Dibër area.
The project, financed by Prespa Ohrid Nature Trust – PONT, aims to promote the preservation of the biodiversity of the Korab-Koritnik Nature Park, which is known as an area of natural resources with great potential for the local economy. The project aims to raise awareness among local communities and stakeholders regarding ecosystems and resources in the area. The project highlights also the importance of using and managing local natural resources in a sustainable manner, since they contribute directly to economic development and improvement of living conditions for the community.
In the long term, the project aims to preserve the biodiversity of the Korab-Koritnik Natural Park (KKNP). The main direct beneficiaries are RAPA Dibër and Kukës and the target local communities in Maqellarë, Kastriot, and Melan administrative units.
Other (direct and indirect) beneficiaries include:
– 100 local farmers (collectors, cultivators) from the target communities, who will be equipped with new skills and techniques for the cultivation and collection of medicinal and aromatic plants, without damaging them.
– Traders who have a direct interest in trading and exporting wild and cultivated MAPs, for which there is a high demand in the national and international market.
– Tourists interested in visiting the natural park.
– Dibra Municipality – the Tourism and Environment Sector as well as the Education Sector, whose interest is the preservation of the area’s biodiversity. They are also partners in this project.
– 27286 residents of the target villages of Maqellara, Kastriot, and Melani, who are interested in sustainably managing the resources of this area.
